After a time of fundraising the LVRA have finally installed the defibrillator outside The White Bull in Crawshawbooth. The device is foolproof with audible instructions being given throughout, should it have to be used. On dialling 999 for an emergency, the Ambulance Service will grant access to the yellow cabinet is needed. The defibrillator will only function on a patient who suffers a heart attck. It will not operate on a healthy body – no danger of injuring anyone accidentally.
An ambulance will be dispatched and the paramedics will take over the treatment.
The first few minutes are crucial for patients – the defibrillator can mean the difference between life and deaath.
Hopefully the defibrillator will never need to be used. If it is it will hopefully save a life.
